Principal’s message

Welcome to Elizabeth B. Phin P.S.

EB Phin has a long, rich history in the Pickering area. Originally named Rouge Hill P.S. and built as a two-room schoolhouse in 1940, the school has provided educational opportunities for those living in the Altona Road area for many years.  Rouge Hill P.S. was eventually renamed Elizabeth B. Phin P.S. after one of it’s most memorable principals.  The new school building was opened in 2001 and currently has a student population of approximately 385 Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 students. The staff is a dedicated and enthusiastic group of individuals who work closely together as a team to create a challenging, supportive and cooperative environment where each child is encouraged to develop the skills, knowledge and values necessary to become an independent and responsible decision-maker.  Students are motivated and involved within a variety of school co-curricular opportunities. Activities such as team sports, intramural programs, clubs, committees and special events are offered to encourage, support and develop student strengths in academics, leadership, and character education.
